Dr. Marta Coma, ex-researcher of LEQUIA, joins the prestigious Laboratory of Microbial Ecology and Technology (LabMET) of Ghent University

The Laboratory of Microbial Ecology and Technology (LabMET) is a part of the Faculty of Bioscience Engineering at Ghent University. LabMET is specialised in the study and application of mirobial resources (MRM, Microbial Resource Management) to develop novel products and processes. The laboratory is recognised worlwide as one of the leading institutions in MRM research.

Marta Coma holds a pHD in Sciences by the University of Girona. Her doctoral thesis, “Biological nutrient removal: from floccular to granular sludge” was carried out at LEQUIA and supervised by Drs. Jesús Colpirm and Sebastià Puig. She has published several papers on biological removal of nutrients in wastewater and Microbial Fuel Cells.
