We seek candidates to apply for a technology transfer and/or applied research position in the competitive call TECNIOSPRING+, a COFUND program under Horizon 2020 funded by the European Commission and the Catalan Government. Research topic: Data processing and modelling of urban drinking water systems.
LEQUIA (http://lequia.udg.cat) is the Laboratory of Chemical and Environmental Engineering, a research group of the University of Girona (Catalonia, Spain) devoted to the development of eco-innovative water solutions. Because our work is multidisciplinary, LEQUIA projects currently involve environmental scientists, chemists, biologists, engineers and computer scientists. We have a team of 40 researchers and technicians. Our current research lines are: i) design, operation and control of advanced processes for the biological treatment of industrial and urban wastewaters, ii) valorization of resources within the water-energy nexus, iii) environmental decision support systems, and iv) advanced adsorption/oxidation processes for the treatment of liquid and gaseous effluents.
Candidates must i) hold a doctoral degree and four additional years of full-time research experience; or, alternatively, have at least eight years of full-time research experience after obtaining the degree which would formally entitle them to embark on a doctorate, and ii) have at least one year of experience in applied research and/or technology transfer activities (R&D projects involving companies, patents licensing or spin-offs). Experience in team management is also required. The call is open to all nationalities but the researcher must not have resided or carried out her/his main activity (work, studies) in Spain for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to the deadline for the submissions of applications (September 14th). Experience in water science and technology and/or modelling/environmental decision support systems (EDSS) is desired. Moreover, fluency in Spanish and/or Catalan will be valued.
