BEST-ENERGY. Bioelectrochemical systems for water treatment: from extracelullar electronical transfer to biotechnological application

The BEST-ENERGY project deals with the application of bioelectrochemical systems (BES) for water (wastewater and groundwater) treatment. In particular, this project will study the differences between abiotic and biocathodes as well as the application of microbial fuel cells (MFC) for the wastewater and groundwater treatment; and the microbial electrolysis cells (MEC) for the hydrogen generation treating organic matter from wastewater.
