LEQUIA researcher Sebastià Puig was one of the invited speakers at the 3rd European Meeting of the International Society for Microbial Electrochemistry and Technology (EU-ISMET 2016), with a lecture entitled “Bioremediation of contaminated water: a niche for microbial electrochemical technologies”.
EU-ISMET 2016 took place in Rome (Italy) on 26-28th September 2016. Following the tradition of previous successful EU-ISMET events (Gent 2012 and Alcalá, 2014), this 3-day event brought together the international scientific community to present and discuss the latest advances in research and industrial application of microbial electrochemical technologies.
Besides Dr Puig lecture, LEQUIA was represented by two oral presentations and one poster:
- NoNit: Scaling-up BES towards nitrate-polluted groundwater treatment application, N. Pous, S. Puig, J. Manzano, S. Casas, P. Vall, R. López, M.D. Balaguer, J. Colprim, oral presentation.
- Core microbiome of MCFs used to treat swine manure at diferent external resistances, A. Vilajeliu-Pons, L. Bañeras, S. Puig, D. Molognoni, A. Vilà-Rovira, E. Hernández-Del Amo, M. Do, oral presentation.
- A biological model for microbial fuel cells treating wasteater, D. Molognoni, S. Puig, A. Capodaglio, M.D. Balaguer, J. Colprim, poster.
