WWD2016, “Better water, better jobs”

In 1993, the United Nations General Assembly designated 22 March as the first World Water Day. 23 years later, World Water Day is celebrated around the world shining the spotlight on a different issue every year.

Today, almost half of the world's workers - 1.5 billion people - work in water related sectors and nearly all jobs depend on water and those that ensure its safe delivery. Yet the millions of people who work in water are often not recognized or protected by basic labour rights. The theme in 2016 - water and jobs -show how enough quantity and quality of water can change workers' lives and livelihoods - and even transform societies and economies.

We invite you to take part in the contest and send pictures on “Water and Jobs”! You can get inspired by watching the official trailer of Water World Day 2016, visiting United Nations web on this celebration, or having a look at pictures submitted to the constest's 2015 and 2014 editions.

Do not forget to read the attached rules of contest!
