Novedar_Consolider project started in 2007 and is aimed at developing the sewer treatment plant of the XXI century. During 6 years new technologies and strategies for treatment and control have been developed. The objective is optimizing technological parameters as well as guaranteeing its economic and environmental feasibility.
The seminar, which was held in Madrid on November 14th, was focused on those technologies that have been validated at pre-industrial scale in collaboration with the industry. Presentations were given by project partners, among them universities of Barcelona (UB), Cádiz (UCA), Cantabria (UC), Girona (UdG), Murcia (UM), Santiago de Compostela (USC), Valencia (UV), Valladolid (UVa); CEIT (Guipúzcoa) and two universities from the Netherlands: Delft (TDU) and Wageningen (WUR).
LEQUIA researchers Dr. Jesús Colprim, Dr. Ignasi Rodríguez-Roda and Dr. Manel Poch presented the following tecnologies:
- PANAMMOX process – Autotrophic removal of nitrogen in 2 steps (UdG/CespaGR)
- Smart Air MBR – Aeration energy saving in membrane bioreactors (UdG/GS Inima)
- Biogear – MFC for wastewater treatment (UdG/Abengoa Water)
- Environmental Decision Support Systems - EDSS (UdG/Aqualogy)
