On 30th July the Catalan Government published its first offer of industrial doctorates. The University of Girona holds the second position in number of projects submitted, only behind UPC. Thus, UdG researchers have submitted 20 of the total of 109 projects offered by all Catalan universities. Three of these projects are from LEQUIA researchers and will be carried out at ACCIONA Agua, Aqualogy Aqua Ambiente Servicios Integrales and Sanejament Intel·ligent S.L.
The Plan of Industrial Doctorates is a strategy of the Catalan Government, in cooperation with public and private universities, to contribute to competitiveness and internationalisation of the Catalan industrial business sector, to retain human capital, and to promote the development of R&D projects in the private sector by PhD students. Candidates that fulfil the requirements are encouraged to submit their application not later than 30th September. The selection process will be carried out by the university and the enterprise.
