The International Seminar on “Advanced and Environment-Friendly Wastewater Treatment Technologies” is being held in Hanoi (Vietnam) from 26th to 27th February. The seminar has been organised by Vietnam National University, Fundació Solidaritat de la Universitat de Barcelona and Fundació Món-3. LEQUIA professor Dr. Ignasi Rodríguez-Roda gave a presentation on sewage treatment and reuse on Monday 26th February (Sewage treatment and reuse: advanced technologies and future challenges, I.Rodríguez-Roda, S. Puig, R. González-Olmos i M. Pijuan).
The seminar is part of a cooperation project that started two years ago to disseminate sustainable technologies for wastewater treatment, and that includes the construction of an industrial wastewater treatment plant based on the “wetlands” technologies in Halong bay, at Quang Ning province, a UNESCO World Heritage Centre. The project has been carried out by the University of Barcelona (UB) research group on Hydrology.
The Catalan delegation led by Fundació Solidaritat UB is composed by Antonina Torrens, researcher of the UB Hydrology research group and project leader on behalf of the Foundation; Xavier López, Director of the Foundation; Antoni Alarcón, Deputy Director of Barcelona Regional Urban Development Agengy; Ignasi Rodríguez-Roda, LEQUIA professor and ICRA researcher; and Irene Maestro, UB professor on Global Economy and president of Fundació Món-3. The delegation was received by the Spanish Ambassador in Vietnam and the Vice-president of Vietnam National University in Hanoi.
