The AtWat project organizes a workshop on Advanced Tools for Wastewater Treatment in Tiruchirappalli (India)

The workshop will last two days (28-29th January 2013) and will bring together experts in the field from academia/research institutes and from the industry. Plenary talks by experts in the area of waste water treatment are also planned.

The AtWat project (Advanced modelling, control and decision support tools for flexible and optimal waste water treatment plants) is a networking project funded by the New Indigo initiative for the development and integration of Indian and European research. Project partners are National Chemical Laboratory (Prune, India), National Institute of Technology (Tiruchirappalli, India), Pondicherry Engineering College (Puducherry, India), Ghent University (Ghent, Belgium), LEQUIA research group of the University of Girona (Girona, Catalonia, Spain) and the Catalan Water Agency (Catalonia, Spain).

The first AtWat workshop will be held on 28-29thJanuary 2013 in Tiruchirappalli (India). The workshop will consist of invited lectures and ample time for discussion and interaction. Recent trends in waste water treatment will be presented, with specific focus on development of computational mathematical models and their successful use for design, control and optimization as well as challenges ahead. LEQUIA professor Dr. Quim Comas and pHD student  Antonia Hadjimichael will participate in the workshop.
