Organized by WG4 of Action COST Water 2020, the summer school “Modelling and decision support systems for sustainable wastewater treatment” will be held in Girona from 25th to 29th April 2016.
This short, intensive and specialized course is focusing on modelling, control and decision support tools for the complex issue of sustainable wastewater treatment systems. State-of-the-art and leading-edge tools will be presented and used in various hands-on exercises. Thus, it is an opportunity to learn about tools that help provide consistency, time efficiency, integrated and optimum solutions for a wide range of wastewater treatment problems.
The course is mainly addressed to PhD students who want to achieve a higher degree of specialization in this field, but also to other students or professionals, who have busy schedules, but are interested in learning specifically about modelling and decision support tools for sustainable wastewater treatment system management.
Didactical methods used in this course:
a) Lectures given by global experts from academia and practice
b) Individual and group exercises and game-based learning in the classroom
c) Discussion sessions
d) Practical sessions using models and decision support systems
